The European Services Directive

The Directive 2006/123/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union on services in the internal market (EC Services Directive) came into force on 28 December 2006 and had to be implemented in the member states within three years, hence by 28 December 2009.
It contains multiple legal measures based on the Lisbon Strategy of the European Union. It aims at removing barriers for service providers within the internal market.

The field of taxation is excluded from the scope of the Services Directive. A basic prerequisite for applying for administrative services within the framework of the European Services Directive is the provision of a Point of Single Contact (PSC) in the respective law on administrative procedures.

The legal basis of the Point of Single Contact Schleswig-Holstein EA-SH is set out in the

  • Point of Single Contact establishment act
  • in the statutes of the Point of Single Contact Schleswig-Holstein EA-SH
